Configure CA Personal Firewall using the quick method.

The easiest way to open ports for a program you are running is to just run that program. You should see the following window pop up on your screen.

Just put a check mark into the Remember this setting checkbox, and then click the Allow button. That's it, you are done!

Now if that window didn't pop up, you are going to have to do just a bit more configuration. Go ahead and open up the CA Security Center.

Click the CA Personal Firewall link.

Now click the Open Advanced Settings link.

In the menu on the left, click the Firewall button.

On this page you will see a list of programs and their coresponding security permissions. Find the program that you are trying to run in this list. You can right click elements in this table. When you do that, you will be presented with three options ask, prevent and allow. Set the Access Safe and Access Restricted options to Allow. The allow option displays as a green checkmark. If the program you are trying to run needs to be a server, then turn the Server Safe and Server Resticted to Allow as well.
