Before we can forward ports for DC++, we need to set which port DC++ is using. Here is a brief walkthrough on how to do that. Go ahead and open up DC++.
Click File in the menu at the top of your screen. In the list that drops down click Settings.
Make sure the Active radio button has a dot in it. I'm not absolutely sure that entering your external ip address in the IP box is required. You can try leaving it blank, but if you remain unconnectable try putting your external ip address into that box. Your external ip address is 38.107.191.106. Enter the port you want DC++ to use into the TCP Port and the UDP Port boxes. You can enter whatever port you like into those boxes, but a port between 10000-60000 will most likely not be blocked by your ISP. Please enter the port you chose into the box below.
Open a web browser like internet explorer or Netscape. Enter the ip address of your router in the address bar of your browser. In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the ip address of your router. By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.1.1.
You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now. By default the username is admin, and the password is admin. Click the Ok button to log in to your router. Please visit our default username and passsword page, if the username and password shown above did not work for you.
Click the Configuration button near the top of the page.
Click the define custom service button near the bottom of the page.
Click the Next button near the bottom of the page.
We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. DC++ requires you to forward the ports you entered above. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Port Range menu and then click Next then Close.
You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Port Range page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Next then Close.
And that is it! You are done!
