Port Forwarding 1st SMTP Server on the Huawei SMARTAX MT 800

What is Port Forwarding?
What is Port Triggering?

To setup port forwarding on this router your computer needs to have a static ip address. Take a look at our Static IP Address guide to setup a static ip address. When you are finished setting up a static ip address, please come back to this page and enter the ip address you setup in the Static IP Address box below.

Do not skip this step!

Please enter the static ip you want to forward to:

192.168.1

Open a web browser like internet explorer or Netscape. Enter the ip address of your router in the address bar of your browser. In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the ip address of your router. By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.1.1.

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now. By default both the username and password are admin. Click the Ok button to log in to your router.

Click the Other Settings link near the left of the page.

You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click NAT.

Click the Add button.

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. 1st SMTP Server requires you to forward the 25 ports. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the NAT Rule - Add menu and then click Submit.

Nat Rule Information
Rule Type:
Protocol:     TCP UDP
Local IP:
Global Address From:
Global Address To:

Destination Port To:
Select REDIRECT from the Rule Type drop down box. Use the Protocol drop down box to select the protocol type of the ports you are forwarding. Enter the ip address to forward these ports to into the Local IP box. If you are forwarding ports so you can run a program on your computer, you should enter your computer's ip address into that box. Leave Global Address From and Global Address To set to 0.0.0.0. Leave Destination Port From and Destination Port To set to Any Other Port. If you are forwarding a single port, enter that port number into the Destination Port From and the Destination Port To boxes. If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter the lowest number of that range into the Destination Port From box. Then enter the highest number of that range into the Destination Port To box. When you are finished, click the Submit button.

Click the Advanced Function link near the left of the page.

You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click IP Filter.

Select Low from the Security Level drop down box. Select Accept from the Public Default Action drop down box. Select Accept from the Private Default Action drop down box.

When you're finished, click Save & Reboot near the left of the screen to save your changes.

And that's it! You're done!
