Before we can forward ports for eDonkey, we need to figure out what ports eDonkey is using. Here is a brief walkthrough on how to do that. Go ahead and open up eDonkey.
Click the Options button in the menu at the top of your screen.
In the menu on the left hand side click Advanced. On this page you should see an UPnP Support checkbox. Please Uncheck that box.
We are going to click another option in the menu on the left hand side. Let's click Network this time. You should see a TCP Port box and an UDP Port box. Enter a random port into each of these boxes. It doesn't matter what ports you choose, but a port numbers between 10000 and 60000 would be a good idea. A higher numbered port is generally the best to use, because most ISP's do not block the higher numbered ports. Please enter the port you chose for the TCP Port box into the box below.
To setup port forwarding on this router your computer needs to have a static ip address. Take a look at our Static IP Address guide to setup a static ip address. When you are finished setting up a static ip address, please come back to this page and enter the ip address you setup in the Static IP Address box below.
Click the Applications button near the left side of the page.
Click the Utilities button near the right side of the page.
Click the AirPort Admin Utility button near the right side of the page.
Click the Port Mapping button near the top of the page.
Click the Add button near the right side of the page.
We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. eDonkey requires you to forward the ports you entered above. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Port Mapping Add menu and then click Ok.
You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Port Mapping Add page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Ok.
When you're finished, click Update near the bottom of the screen to save your changes. And that's it! You're done!
