Firewalling for the NVidia ActiveArmor Firewall
I've heard of and experienced this firewall causing "out of memory" errors with some programs. Just be aware of that when using this firewall. Go ahead and open up the Nvidia ActiveArmor Firewall.
Click the
View the current Profile
link.
In the main section of this page change the
Security Profiles
to one of the custom configurations. Put a dot in to the
Re-generate profile based on
radio button. I chose medium here, but you can choose any of the profiles to base your custom profile off of. Then click the
Apply
button at the bottom of this page. You should see a status page as the firewall generates the custom configuration settings. When it is finished you should find yourself back at the Firewall Basic Configuration Page. Now click the
Firewall
link on the left hand side of this page. Then click the
Advanced Configuration
link. Then click the
UDP/TCP Port
link in the left hand menu.
The default
TCP/UDP port outbound action
drop down box should be set to deny. Click the
Add
button on the bottom of this page. Then enter the settings as shown below.

Any Remote IP Address
Specify Remote IP address and/or mask
Remote IP Address
Remote IP subnet mask
Beginning Port Number {min 0, max 65535}
Ending Port Number {min 0, max 65535}
Port Protocol

Allow
TCP/UDP port outbound action
Allow
Click the
Apply
button to save that rule. Click the
Add
button on the bottom of this page. Then enter the settings as shown below.

button to save that rule. Click the
